October is here! October is here!

If you know me at all, you know that October, November and December are my three favorite months of the year. So that means that finally, the best 1/4 of the year is here. And I couldn't be more ready. I felt like September really kicked my butt last month and I wasn't ready for it. When they say junior year is hard, they weren't joking... Junior year is really hard just like it was in High School, but even harder. Why? Couldn't tell you. You would think by year three I would have this whole "college" thing figured out by now.

With three back-to-back-to-back football Saturdays and homework filled Sundays, my plate was quite full on the weekends as well as during the week. It was pretty go go go at all times and we really didn't seem to have a break. But, enough negativity about how September swallowed me up and spit me back out like a rotten tomato.

It's October. So here is a list of 16 reasons why I love this part of the year (& trust me there is way more):

1. Scented Candles: Yes it's that time of the year. Pumpkin Spice, Citrus and Wood, Cashmere and Smoke, Fresh Pine. Gingerbread, Bonfire, and more. The best of the best scents come in the fall.

2. Halloween: I mean come on, it's halloween. Who doesn't love curling up on the coach to watch halloween classics, eat lots of candy, and dress up as whatever you want without judgement. Okay, a little judgement, but come on, don't be another cat lady.

3. Corn-Mazes: I love corn mazes. Go down to your local farm, get lost in the corn maze, pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and drink some apple cider. And don't forget a caramel apple!

4. Fall Clothing: Finally! Scarf weather!!!! It's time to bundle up in cute sweaters and jeans with some booties. No more sweating in shorts and tanks walking to class or in my case, that dress you've worn a few too many times this season. Layers, Layers, Layers.

5. Mountain Day: It's Martha Berry's birthday celebration for crying out loud! The hall olympics, talent show, the Grand March, and Marthapalooza. It's a weekend full of happiness.

6. Fall Break: Fall break is amazing because I get to go home. Not only do I get to go home, but Kassie comes with me every year and we go to the fall races. Fall horse racing is the best part about a chilly Lexington fall afternoon.

7. Leaves: The color of the leaves changing is just beautiful. And don't forget the word "autumn." It is clearly the most elegant way to describe a season. It even sounds beautiful.

8. Football

9. Comfort Food: I feel like that's self-explanatory.

10. Hot Coffee Drinks: Yup. Just better. The warm feeling in your fingers when you are walking to class with a warm cup of coffee in your hands is glorious.

11. My Birthday: And let's not forget it's my golden birthday. 21 on the 21st. That is all folks.

12. Home-made Cookies with mom: My mom and I always bake together around the holidays. And now with us both being gluten free, I can't wait to see all the delicious recipes she comes up with (: Maybe I'll share a few...

13. Thanksgiving: Family, Turkey, Food, Football.

14. Christmas Decorations: It just makes the street that much prettier and Berry that much more beautiful,.

15. Christmas Eve celebration: sometimes it's on the Eve of the Eve of the Eve but you know, same thing lol.

16. NYE: Ending the year surrounded by my favorite people on this planet. My family.

Happy Fall Y'all!
